For the 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney’s 1954 live-action classic 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea, Disney wanted to feature the films famous “Giant Squid” sequence within an elegant mechanical water globe diorama. A Nautilus monogrammed vase, the legs of which are modeled after the shell stanchions of three submarine’s salon, supports a view port similar to that which Captain Nemo surveys the wonders of his watery world. By turning the key at the back of the globe, a mysterious glow reveals the squid pushing up against the glass.
This limited edition 50th Anniversary Mechanical alighted Water Globe is truly unlike anything I’ve ever seen. It weighs almost 20lbs packaged! Impressive in design, extremely solid and heavy. They honestly don’t make them like this anymore!!
